NL: De opening avond van Amsterdam Fashionweek zit er al weer op. Ondanks dat het weer een beetje tegen viel was het wederom een groot succes. Deze openingseditie was afgeladen vol waardoor de Gashouder tot de nok toe gevuld was met mensen. Bij de commerciële collectie van designer duo Spijkers & Spijker ook wel SIS by Spijker& Spijkers (ph: 3-5) waren de pofmouwen volop aanwezig. De collectie werd geïnspireerd door de jonge Brigitte Bardot. Na de eerste show was het tijd voor designer Mary-Me Jimmy Paul. Wat een hilarisch succes was dat! Veel kleur, coole muziek en geweldige modellen. Van deze show heb ik echt genoten. Ik vind het belangrijk dat mensen mode ook zien als plezier en bij veel shows hoor je vaak geluiden dat het te commercieel is of te conceptueel. Er is altijd wel wat! Mary-Me Jimmy Paul liet duidelijk zien dat fashion ook gewoon FUN kan zijn! En dat snapte het publiek als geen ander en deze designer kreeg daarom ook een staande ovatie!

ENG: Yesterday evening I attended the Amsterdam Fashionweek openingshows at Gashouder Amsterdam.  Designer duo Spijkers & Spijkers and designer Mary-Me Jimmy Paul showed their new collection.  In this photo diary I give you an impression of the evening (including some snapshots after the shows and ofcourse pictures of what I was wearing yesterday). Yesterday was my first day at The Amsterdam Fashion Week. I could not attend the first two days because I was in Antwerpen for a city trip. During my first day I saw four totally different shows, started with  FredFarrow&BrittAvelonTan, Frans Molenaar (winner of 2010), who is now co-operating with Britt Avelon Tan. Which was followed by artistic Bas Kosters,  the wearable collection of SIS by Spijkers and Spijkers and upcoming Paris Fashionweek participant Jan Boelo.  I enjoyed all shows, but was most suprised by the collection of Fred Farrow & Britt Avelon Tan. The Bas Kosters show was a spectacle as every year and it was a honor to attend the show of Jan Boelo. 

Events like yesterday are covered by a lot of a people (bloggers/the Twitter crowd/photographers) and you can even watch live streams on internet. Therefore I chose for a detail post of the four shows from Friday. Looking forward to your comments and tell me if you also going or went to Amsterdam fashionweek.
