NL: Vorige week vrijdag opende de allereerste Olympus Concept Store in Nederland. In de store kan men een maand lang de belangrijkste producten en de nieuwste OM-D E-M1 camera zien en daarnaast kan men er terecht voor workshops, trainingen en andere activiteiten. Ook zijn de beste beelden uit de succesvolle zomercampagne te zien, genomen door vijf fotografen die op vrijwel alle festivals met hun OM-D camera aanwezig zijn geweest. Afgelopen vrijdag konden de  vijf fotografen hun zes uitgekozen werken bekijken in de Olympus concept store. Het was enorm druk en het was leuk om de beelden te bekijken. Naast dat ik verschillende fotografen ben tegen gekomen tijdens het festival seizoen, spotte ik ook een vriend van mij op het doek (zie foto 5). Hierboven een foto verslag van de avond waarbij we natuurlijk de heerlijke Olympus cake- pops niet aan ons voorbij konden laten gaan. De Olympus Concept Store is de komende maand gehuisvest op Singel 459  en is geopend van donderdag t/m zondag. ENG: Last week the grand opening took place of the first Olympus Concept Store in the Netherlands. At the store everyone can see a month of the most important products and the newest OM-D E-M1 camera and beside that you can also go there for workshops, training, and other activities. You can also see the best pictures of the summer campaign, taken by the five photographers who mostly take pictures with there OM-D at the festivals. Last Friday these 5 photographers were able to see there 6 picked pieces at the Olympus concept store. It was very busy and it was a lot of fun looking at their pictures Besides meeting several different photographers during the festival season, I also spotted a friend of mine on the canvas (see picture 5). Above a photo report of the evening where we could not resist the delicious Olympus cakepops. The Olympus Concept Store will be situated next month at the Singel 459 and will be open from Thursday through Sunday. OUTFITPOST: CAPTURING MOMENTS WITH OLYMPUS PEN E-P5

ENG: Sometimes you have moments in your life that you want to capture. The beautiful sundown, different side on your vacation, or a silly concert of one of your favorite bands. Myself I am totally into taking pictures and like to capture every moment through my pictures. Sometimes my friends tell me: "Chloe, not a picture again!". Although I have to admit that my circle of friends are pretty much used to my addacition to taken pictures by now. But eh, I am a blogger, I can't help this addiction... In any case it is not a bad addiction, even if I say it myself.

 

For a long time, I only shot pictures with a large mirror reflection camera, or with my Iphone 4S. The only choice I had then was either to drag a huge camera around or make bad quality pictures with my Iphone. But now I finally found the solution. Since a while I take pictures with my latest Olympus PEN, the Olympus PEN E-P5. Wow, the quality of the camera is undescribable! The camera is user friendly (in the bag and go..), the pictures are of excellent quality and everyone can use it. Besides that it has a lot of extra functions, but the ones I mentioned above are the most important for me.

 

Since I have purchased the Olympus E-P5 in my existence of being a blogger, I have increased my picture taking. Now let me tell you something, all my girlfriends are all of a sudden very happy with my photography addiction. They all are very surprised with the quality of the camera and all the facebook profile pictures taken with the Olympus PEN E-P5, are being produced as mushrooms out of the ground.

NL: Soms heb je momenten in je leven die je vast wilt leggen. Die prachtige zonsondergang, bezienswaardigheden op vakantie of dat te gekke optreden van je favoriete band op een festival. Zelf ben ik verslingerd aan foto's maken en leg het liefst ieder moment vast. Soms zeggen vriendinnen en vrienden wel eens: "Chloe, niet weer een foto". Al moet ik zeggen dat mijn vriendenkring al aardig gewend is geraakt aan mijn foto verslaving en dat ze er niet meer van staan te kijken als ik weer een foto wil maken. Maar he, ik blog.. kan ik er wat aan doen dat ik deze verslaving heb... In ieder geval geen slechte verslaving al zeg ik zelf!

 

Een tijd lang maakte ik alleen foto's met een grote spiegel reflex camera of met mijn Iphone 4S. De keuze was dan altijd, slepen met een bakbeest van een camera of slechtere kwaliteit foto's maken met mijn Iphone. Maar...nu heb ik eindelijk de oplossing. Sinds een tijdje fotografeer ik met de nieuwste Olympus PEN, de Olympus PEN E-P5. WOW, de kwaliteit van deze camera is niet in woorden te omschrijven. De camera is makkelijk in gebruik (in de tas en gaan..), de foto's zijn van zeer goede kwaliteit en iedereen kan er mee overweg.  Daarnaast heeft hij nog veel meer extra's functies, maar voor mij zijn bovenstaande drie de belangrijkste.

 

Sinds de komst van de Olympus E-P5 in mijn bloggers leven neem ik nog meer en vaker foto's. Zal ik je wat vertellen, mijn vriendinnen zijn nu opeens heel blij met mijn foto verslaving. Allemaal zijn ze verbaast over de goede kwaliteit van de camera en nieuwe Facebook profiel foto's gemaakt met mijn Olympus PEN E-P5 komen als paddenstoelen uit de grond.

STREETSTYLE: BUITEN WESTEN FESTIVAL 2013

NL: Ik heb het jullie al een aantal keer beloofd, maar nu is dan eindelijk mijn eerste festival streetstyle post een feit! Ik moet eerlijk toegeven tijdens Extrema Outdoor en Amsterdam Fashionweek heb ik ook wat streetstyle gefotografeerd, maar deze zijn door tijdsgrebrek (slecht excuus, ik weet het) nog niet online gekomen. Afgelopen zaterdag was ik aanwezig op Buiten Westen Festival, een verzamelplaats voor vrije geesten en geluiden.  Al vroeg in de middag stroomde het Westerpark Amsterdam vol met hipsters en natuurlijk legde ik de hipste onder hen vast voor deze post. ENG:  I promissed you all on several occasions, but finally my first street style festival post is a fact. I have to admit that during Extrema Outdoor and Amsterdam Fashionweek, I shot some street style aswell, but have not been able to post them due to lack of time (bad excuse, I know). Previous Saturday I was present at the Buiten Westen Festival, a gathering of free spirits and sounds. Early in the afternoon, Westerpark Amsterdam, got flooded with hipsters and ofcourse I wanted to get the most extreme hippies this post. EVENT: OLYMPUS PEN WORKSHOP

ENG:Last Friday I attended the exclusive Olympus photography workshop at Studio 13 Amsterdam. Together with some fellow we got information about Olympus, a photography workshop by Brandan de Clerq, a streetstyle workshop by Meis Belle Wahr and we got the chance to discover the new Olympus PEN E-P5 camera, which will be launched in June.

After all the intersting information, workshops and a delicious lunch we went outside to practice and work on our own street style photography skills with a pre-production sample of the Olympus PEN E-P5. The camera makes beautiful pictures, has many extra useful functions (see pic 11 and 13) and the folding screen makes it possible to take pictures from any position or corner. NL: Vorige week vrijdag was ik aanwezig bij de Olympus camera workshop. Samen met Julien en een select groepje andere bloggers en online pers kregen wij informatie over Olympus, een korte fotografie workshop van Brendan de Clercq, een streetstyle workshop van Meis Belle Wahr en maakte wij kennis met de nieuwe Olympus PEN E-P5, die medio juni gelanceerd wordt.
 
De middag begon goed met een heerlijke lunch in studio 13 in Amsterdam. Deze locatie is ideaal geschikt voor events. De ruimte is prachtig en er is een goede licht inval waardoor je mooi kan fotograferen. Na kennis te hebben gemaakt met het Olympus team en wat gesnoept te hebben van de heerlijke lunchtafel kon de eerste workshop beginnen.
 
De Olympus PEN bestaat al een aantal jaar en werd samen met de Barbie en Mini Cooper in 1959 voor het eerst op de markt gebracht. Deze Olympus PEN was een stuk goedkoper dan de meeste camera's, waardoor opeens iedereen kon fotograferen. Een leuk weetje: Een fotocamera kostte voor 1959 een gemiddeld jaar salaris en na 1959, toen de Olympus PEN uitkwam, een gemiddeld maand salaris. Dat scheelt dus wel wat. In 1963, 4 jaar later, werd de eerste Olympus PEN uitgebracht met verwisselbare lens en nu 54 jaar later lanceert Olympus de Olympus PEN E-P5 die veel kleiner is dan een spiegel reflex camera, maar gelijke (scherpte/diepte) kwaliteit garandeert. Daarnaast maakt de ingebouwde WIFI het mogelijk om gelijk foto's te uploaden op social media.

Vanaf 18 mei 2013 begint Olympus Nederland met de Olympus OM-D Summer Campaign. Vijf professionele fotografen worden ingezet om de young influencers te fotograferen op verschillende events zoals festivals, gallery-openingen en creatieve borrels. Deze fotografen gebruiken hiervoor de high-end Olympus OM-D camera. Deze foto's zullen allemaal worden verzameld op de Facebook pagina van Olympus.

Na de fotografie workshop van Brendan de Clercq konden wij de straat op voor de streetstyle workshop van Meis Belle Wahr. Deze jonge fotograve leerde ons hoe je de perfecte streetstyle kan fotograferen. Erg handig dus! Samen met Julien probeerde ik de camera uit en wow de camera maakt super scherpe foto's en heeft erg leuke retro-functies (zie foto 11 en 13). Daarnaast kan je het beeldscherm uitklappen waardoor je ook vanuit een moeilijke hoek makkelijk kan fotograferen. Met een druk op het scherm is de foto namelijk al gemaakt (zie foto 6).
