Last week I visited trade show "De ModeFabriek" at Amsterdam. Modefabriek is held at Amsterdam RAI, the largest conference venue in the Netherlands, and it has become the leading fashion trade show in the Benelux region. Each edition, Modefabriek now welcomes over 19.000 national and international visitors and showcases more than 600 brands over a space of 40,000 square metre.
Young talented designer Marloes Blaas exhibited her collection on the fashion trade show for the first time. While she showed earlier five collections during Amsterdam Fashion week, she now is focussing on higher sales and less production costs. Therefore she chooses to present her collection at fashion trade show ModeFabriek.
In a brief interview Marloes Blaas told me that no one can earn enough money from only presenting a not wearable but very cool and expensive collection on the catwalk, however this is good to increase your brand awareness. You have to produce a wearable collection with cheaper production costs to make money. Despite the fact she loves using fabrics like jute bags and army tents. Now she using more commercial fabric which is more effective for sale.

I really like the new nostalgic collection, with the clothespin as new logo. I hope Marloes Blaas chooses the good way and that her collection will be soon available in many stores! For more information go to her website.
