EVENT: TRIUMPH INSPIRATION AWARD 2012

Last week I attended the Triumph Inspiration Awards, which found place in EYE, a beautiful building on the northern bank of the IJ in Amsterdam. Seven talented students from well-known fashion academics in the Netherlands used their talent, artistic vision and inspiration to conceptualize and design a unique lingerie showpiece for Triumph. The year 2012 is the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar and Triumph is joining in with this Chinese tradition to celebrate the Triumph Inspiration Award and choose for the theme Dragon & Butterflies. After a presenation, drinks and the jury deliberation, Beertje van Beers announced the winners. Inge van de Ven became 3rd, 2nd place went to Carlijn Gubbens and the winner is the HKU student Kris van Loon, who is going to the finals in Shanghai this summer.

Vorige week donderdag was ik aanwezig bij de jaarlijkse Triumph Inspiration Awards. Vorig jaar met 20 deelnemers in de bekende club AIR, dit jaar met 7 talentvolle mode studenten in het nieuwe film museum aan het IJ, EYE. De 7 studenten streden vorige week donderdag voor de landelijke titel en hoopten een plekje te veroveren in de finale deze zomer in Shanghai.  Het jaar 2012 is het jaar van de draak in de Chinese kalender en Triumph omarmt deze traditie om dit jaar voor het thema  Dragon & Butterflies te kiezen. Na een presentatie, lekkere hapjes en drankje en het spannende jury overleg maakte Beertje van Beers de winnaars bekend. Inge van de Ven werd 3de, de 2de prijs ging naar Carlijn Gubbens en de winnaar werd de jonge HKU student Kris van Loon. Zij vertrekt deze zomer naar Shanghai  voor de grote finale.
